Who Quake Would Fight With If She Were In Captain America: Civil War

Sides are being chosen in Marvel’s big Captain America: Civil War movie planned for next summer. While the actual fighting will be limited to those already on the movie screen, even Marvel’s TV world is considering where they would line up if they were on the front line. According to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Chloe Bennett, Quake is all about Team Captain America.

Speaking to Comicbook.com Bennett says she would side with Captain America, considering her character’s history.

I think Cap. Not just because it's Chris Evans, I think it would be Cap because, I mean, that just makes the most sense. Iron Man is not really for her, you know? I think Daisy's behavior up to this point, and where she’s been means she would go with Cap.

While Skye (back when that was her name) was originally hacking S.H.I.E.L.D. in order to bring everything they were hiding about people with powers to light--which would actually fit more with Tony Stark’s perspective--she has gone through some pretty substantial changes since then. Season 2 was quite the experience for her. As a recently realized Inhuman, Daisy (or Quake if you prefer) now understands what it’s like to be hunted simply for being who she is, and it turns out she’s not a fan of that. Now that she’s embraced this other side of herself it makes perfect sense for her sympathies to lie with Captain America.

What will be more interesting is seeing how her feelings line up with other S.H.I.E.L.D. members. While Marvel’s TV shows are often only tangentially related to the films, there are usually some shock waves set off by the movies that impact the TV world. Considering how much of an effect the last Captain America movie had on Agents it’s very likely that something similar could happen with Civil War. It makes the most sense that many people within S.H.I.E.L.D. will line up more on Iron Man’s side which could potentially put Daisy and the other Inhumans on opposite sides of S.H.I.E.L.D... again. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has always followed individuals who are protecting humanity from aliens, people with powers, etc. This often puts S.H.I.E.L.D. on the same side as our superheroes, but since Civil War even pits superheroes opposite one another, the game changes.

We’ll have to wait until close to the end of the current TV season to see if Daisy’s support of Captain America is simply off-handed or if they’ll be more going on when Civil War comes to the Marvel universe. That means there’s still a lot to happen between now and then. The new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gets underway tonight on ABC at 9 p.m. ET.
