Get A Rush With Greek: Chapter Three On DVD

Anyone who’s been in a sorority or fraternity has a soft spot for Greek-life-related entertainment. We all love Animal House and might even see Sorority Row when it’s released in September. Yes, they may all reinforce the stereotypes that make up the outsider’s view of the Greek system, but the caricatures are hard to resist and actually pull you in even more. That seems to be the case with ABC Family’s Greek. The show premiered in August of 2006 and is heading towards the start of its third season (fifth chapter) on August 31st. If you’ve fallen behind in your studies, you’re in luck because Greek: Chapter Three hits DVD on August 18th, giving you just enough time to cram before the big premiere.

Welcome to Greek 101. Back during season one, Rusty Cartwright (Jacob Zachar) began his first year at Cyprus-Rhodes University. In an effort to shed his geeky image he decides to go Greek and becomes a member of the party-crazy Kappa Tau. Rusty’s older sister, Casey (Spence Grammer), is a member of Zeta Beta Zeta and isn’t thrilled with her little bro’s decision to join the same frat as her ex-boyfriend, Cappie (Scott Michael Foster). Cappie isn’t nearly as stressed as his ex. He’s the president of Kappa Tau, is very pleased with his college experience thus far, and plans to make it last as long as possible. During the third chapter Rusty’s life is turned upside down when he fully immerses himself in Kappa Tau life and moves into the house. Meanwhile, Casey is battling Frannie (Tiffany Dupant) for the pledges’ affection and will do just about anything to get it; even if it means spilling each other’s deepest and darkest secrets. Things get seriously out of control when Greek Row is immersed in Hell Week.

This three-disc set comes with all 10 episodes from chapter three. In case you’re not a fan of the show, Greek is aired in chapters. There are two chapters every season, which would make chapter three the first half of the second season. There’s also the “20 Questions with the Cast of Greek” featurette, some bloopers, and audio commentary.

One of the best parts about this set it that if you buy it, you can get $10 back if you purchase it along with one of the other chapters on DVD. This set only costs $39.99, so it’s an affordable and sensible deal, especially if you’re first getting into the show. Best Buy has the first chapter for $19.99 and the second for $24.99, so you’re looking at a maximum of about $65.00, which is certainly worth a trip back to college.
