Pulse 2 Keeps Us Scared Of The Internet

We all know that wireless internet is eventually going to lead to the ultimate destruction of the world, we just didn’t know how. Now we do. Ghosts. That’s right, ghosts will use digital frequencies to haunt the living. At least, that’s what happens in the direct-to-DVD R-rated thriller, Pulse 2, out on DVD September 30th.

Pulse 2 follows, obviously, Pulse, which was released into theaters and was co-written by Wes Craven. Craven has nothing to do with the sequel that was written and directed by direct-to-video horror veteran Joel Soisson.

The plot, according to a press release, “follows divorced parents Stephen and Michelle as they frantically search for their young daughter in a desperate and grave world…The world has been reshaped by the invasion of ghosts via the wireless internet. Cities are deserted, technology has been destroyed and the few remaining human beings eschew anything electrical in order to avoid a confrontation with the soulless ghosts that wander the planet.” Battlestar Galactica’s Jamie Bamber and Boti Bliss star.

The DVD will include a commentary that includes Soisson and a lot of the crew members, including the make-up effects supervisor. Not often that person gets to take part in the chat fest. There are also some deleted scenes. Take a gander at the box art below and click on the thumbnails at the bottom for a few stills from the movie. The one in the car looks pretty damn creepy.
