3 More Dwarf Companions For The Hobbit: Bifur, Bofur and Bombur

The Hobbit is slowly building up its company of dwarves. For those of you who haven’t read the book, unlike Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit is short on human characters. Instead Bilbo Baggins, a very fine hobbit from The Shire, is in the company of 13 curmudgeonly dwarves on his journey to the Lonely Mountain. They’re lead by Thorin Oakenshield, and he’s the big hero character who you’ll see the most of in the movie. But first we’re winding our way through his supporting cast, and today we’ve made it up to three brothers: Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur.
The image below debuted on IGN where they have a high-res version. Pictured below from left to right are: Stephen Hunter as Bombur, James Nesbitt as Bofur and William Kircher as Bifur.
Unlike Fili and Kili, who we showed you yesterday, these three are more what you expect from Dwarfs. Hairy and round with a slightly suspicious look on their faces, these guys would look pretty comfortable standing next to John Rhys-Davies’ Gimli. As you can tell, Bombur has a thing for food. Actually the IGN writeup sugggests that he's only off on this quest to slay the dragon Smaug because he heard the beer was free. That seems accurate.
If you’re wondering what these characters are going to look like traipsing down the road together as a group, The One Ring has snagged a great image of all seven previously released dwarf characters, standing together. Check it out:
