Headed into theaters next summer is The Lone Ranger, Gore Verbinski's take on the story of the Lone Ranger and his friend Tonto. Yesterday, we got a look at an intriguing looking teaser poster. Today comes the trailer for the film, which not only shows Armie Hammer's character in action, but also shows a lot of action in general.

Katey noted the aesthetic of the teaser poster that went online yesterday, mentioning that it looks like a gritty vigilante story as opposed to the old-timey Western feel we've gotten from the previously released images for the Disney movie. What's presented to us in this trailer shows off a sequence of action packed scenes that follows in the same tone as the poster and leaves off with the image of the mask at the end. You can watch the trailer below or in HD at Apple.com.

"There comes a time, Kemosabe, when good man must wear mask."

The Lone Ranger is described as a "thrilling adventure infused with action and humor." We don't see much humor in this trailer, but the thrilling adventure comes through loud and clear. Explosions, train crashes, horse riding, guns blazing, bullets flying (one in slow-mo) and more are revealed in the video! Beyond the action scenes glimpsed, there are also a couple great hero-shots, including the wide shot of The Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) and Tonto (Johnny Depp) on horseback at the cliff side, the silhouette of Hammer's character on top of the train from behind the conductor, and the shadow of Tonto rising up.

The Lone Ranger arrives in theaters July 3 2013. More information can be found in our Blend Film Database.
