Bedtime Stories By Shankman

Disney sure knows how to bring the pain in the form of live-action movies. After churning out Bringing Down the House and the fish-out-of-water laugh riot The Pacifier, the Mouse has decided to continue making crappy movies with choreographer-turned-director Adam Shankman. Shankman is set to direct Disney’s latest live action comedy Bedtime Stories, reports Variety.

Bedtime Stories tells the tale of an architect whose lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew come to life. The story caught the eye of Oren Aviv, Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group production president, who has been selective with which live-action projects he green lights, Variety also reports. Apparently, Aviv has been focusing his attention on the crappy to worthless scripts that come across his desk.

Aviv added that Bedtime Stories is the kind of film he wants to make – a family-themed comedy that can be programmed either as a summer or holiday tent pole. The key word is “programmed.” With the flip of a switch, Aviv can power up the micro-chips installed in the legions of Disney-ites minds that will cause them to purchase anything and everything related to Bedtime Stories.

Andrew Gunn (The Haunted Mansion), Jennifer Gibgot (Step Up) and Shankman are slated to produce the empty money maker that is almost certain to be sold as a sure-fire family fun night at the movies, while being completely empty of any substance or meaning. In that case, Shankman is the best director/Choreographer for the job.
