Dawn Treader Production Blog Returns Us To Narnia

It’s official: the teenage leads of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader have the best job you could ever hope to ask for, as long as you’re a full-on adrenaline junkie. While filming is in full swing in Auckland, New Zealand right now, Skandar Keynes, reprising his role as Edmund Pevensie for a third time, has been spending his free time bungee jumping off bridges, diving off of Auckland’s tallest man-made structure, and scaling canyons cliffs, according to the first Narnia Production Blog.

Keynes and co-stars Georgie Henley (playing Lucy Pevensie) and Will Poulter (Eustace Clarence Scrubb) all earned their Professional Association of Diving Instructors Certificate (PADI) before filming even started in preparation for the high amount of time they’d be spending in the water. In the story the trio’s adventure starts when a painting of a ship swallows them into their fantasy world. The blog gives away a few details about how they crew went about shooting such an elaborate scene, and reveals exactly how they flooded the bedroom and put the kids’ diving licenses to the test.

Dawn Treader doesn’t come out until December, but with a film of this magnitude don’t be shocked if we see a teaser coming out within the next few weeks. Hopefully the teens' enthusiasm for diving and acts of daredevilry will shine through in their onscreen characters.
