The Golden Compass heads for theaters later this year and, by most accounts, it has people excited. Although there are some who don’t think the movie is going to be a strong adaptation (myself included), even I have to admit the pictures that have come out look pretty exciting. Now the movie poster joins the released images in building that excitement further.
Featuring the movie’s title device: the golden compass (or alethiometer), the poster builds a nice sense of mystery – just what is an alethiometer and how do you read one? Of course, it hints nothing at all about the actual story for the film, but for a teaser poster, this one isn’t terrible.
Latino Review snapped a picture of the poster at Showest. While they have a bigger version available than the one below, the image has surrounding material reflected in the picture. Still, it’s cool to look at until New Line officially releases a clean copy.
