Goblins of Middle Earth are truly awful, disgusting creatures. Described as "cruel, wicked and bad-hearted" by J.R.R. Tolkien in The Hobbit, their outsides very much match their insides, with grotesque features like horrific fangs, twisted noses, dead eyes and long, sharp pointed ears. So when it comes to a character called The Goblin King you really need to up the ante, and looking at a new toy for the upcoming film it appears that Peter Jackson has done them justice.

While we got our first look at The Goblin King earlier this month, The One Ring has discovered an action figure of the character that shows him in his full, disgusting glory. Even better, it's packaged with a Thorin Oakenshield toy so you can get the sense of how big the goblin stands in comparison to the dwarves. Check out a couple of the images below and head over to The One Ring to see them full size.

For those that haven't read The Hobbit, early in the quest Bilbo and the dwarves are captured while hiding out in a cave and brought before the Goblin King. In addition to being a cool scene by itself, it also sets up Bilbo's interaction with Gollum in the cave, which is easily one of the most iconic parts of the book. It's definitely something to look forward to, particularly if the vision of the Goblin King is fully realized as it is shown above.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be in theaters on December 14th and you can see more from the film in our Blend Film Database.
