Jellybeans Casting Buzz

Roller skates get no love anymore. Ever since rollerblades came into the picture and stole their thunder, they have become something of a nostalgic staple of awkward youth. It's a tough ordeal to look desirable while fumbling around a rink on roller skates, equipped with matching elbow and knee guards. But it's a memory that many of us have, while reflecting on a time when we weren't nearly the well-adjusted, cool people we are today. Yeah, definitely couldn't keep a straight face with that one.

According to Empire Online, roller skating is making a comeback, at least in the world of cinema. Warner Brothers is producing an urban comedy called Jellybeans with music and dance, set in a roller-skating rink in Atlanta. The supposedly 'big news' is that Evan Noss Naess (offspring of divalicious Diana Ross) has signed on to the play role of Ant. Music video helmer Chris Robinson will direct the movie, with Tina Chism, Antwone Fisher, Gina Prince-Blythewood and Joe Robert Cole penning the screenplay.

Jellybeans glides or ricochets its way into theaters sometime next year.
