About a year ago, we told you that another Ace Ventura sequel was being planned. As a reminder, Jim Carrey would rather do stuff like The Number 23 than talk out of his butt again, so this one will focus on Ace’s son. But everyone needs a grandpa and in this case, according to Movie Hole, Ralph Waite will play Ace Ventura’s son’s grandfather.
If you asked me to bet on Ralph Waite being alive or dead, I would have bet 50 crisp dollar bills that he died years ago. His casting in this movie would seem to contradict my belief. Waite was best known as the father on The Waltons but has also appeared as recently as 2005 in Carnivale. Who knew?
Surprisingly, Ace Ventura 3 will have more than just one actor. Josh Flitter will play Ace’s son. He was the little caddy in the Greatest Game Ever Play and also appeared in the shitty License to Wed. Also on tap will be Emma Lockhart and Reed Alexander. Don’t forget to miss this mess when it shows up next year.
