More King Kong Seen

If you're going to remake King Kong in the modern age, you sure as heck had better make the special effects look top notch. Looks like Universal picked the right man for the job.

Straight from his work on the Lord of the Rings Trilogy there's one thing Peter Jackson understands and that's special effects. He led a brilliant team of artists and creators through the maze of Middle Earth, and if the trailer for the new King Kong is any indication, Jackson has worked movie magic again.

King Kong trouncing through early 1900s downtown New York has never looked this good and, despite having a distinctive Isla Nublar feeling, Kong's uncharted island looks great as well. Of course there's more to Kong than just the protective, rampaging ape, but don't look for any of that here.

The trailer avoids revealing any such moment, focusing instead on creepy quick cuts, action shots and terrified women screaming, just the kind of stuff people will want to see going into War of the Worlds where the trailer officially debuts this week in theaters. Expect the calmer side of Kong this holiday season when the film's December release date is a little bit closer.

If you can't wait until Wednesday to see the trailer in theaters you can check it out at the link below, courtesy of people who make cars or something.
