Narnian Casting

Casting has begun on the upcoming Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe movie, and the latest actor to show up in the cast will never be seen on screen. “The New Zealand Herald” reports that British actor Rupert Evertt (My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Importance of Being Earnest) has been cast as the voice of the Fox, one of many characters to be animated with CGI which will inevitably be compared to Gollum but will no doubt fall short.

Also rumored to be joining the cast is Scottish actor James Cosmo (Troy, Braveheart), though whether he’ll show up as an actor interacting with CGI, or just voice an entirely CGI creation remains unknown.

The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is but one in a fantasy series of books written by C.S. Lewis, a contemporary of J.R.R. Tolkien who decided to base his fantastical myths loosely on Jesus rather than war experiences and the ramblings of Norsemen.
