It's kind of funny to pair up Andy Serkis and Martin Freeman for interviews about The Hobbit. They're both stars of the movie, of course, with Serkis returning to his role as Gollum and Freeman stepping in as Bilbo Baggins, and have plenty to say about their return to Middle Earth. But Serkis has been inhabiting this world for over a decade, since he first stepped in to play Gollum in the Lord of the Rings series, while Freeman is the new kid in town, joining Peter Jackson and his massive crew in New Zealand to shoot the two Hobbit films for over a year.
So, of course, we had to ask Freeman about that experience as he and Serkis did interviews in advance of The Hobbit's panel at Comic Con, as well as about the film's tone compared to Lord of the Rings and what fans are anticipating most from the film. Take a look at the conversation below, and for much more on The Hobbit, look for Eric's liveblog from Hall H later today!
