Wedding Banned Release Cancelled By Disney

Anyone who has seen Robin Williams do stand-up knows that the guy is actually funny. Sure, it is somewhat gross watching him throw down 10 bottles of water only to sweat them back onto the stage below him, but you are too busy laughing to really care. Like Eddie Murphy, however, it seems like Williams is dead-set on destroying his career by signing on to some of the worst movies produced today. Fortunately for us, we may have a reprieve from his pun-tastic crap fests, as Disney has just pulled the rug out from beneath his newest project.

Wedding Banned, which would have co-starred Diane Keaton and Anna Faris, has officially been pulled from Disney's 2011 slate, according to THR. The news comes after the incredibly awful Old Dogs flopped at the box office, pulling in $35 million after three weeks release. In Wedding Banned Williams and Keaton would have played divorced parents who kidnap their daughter on her wedding day before discovering that their may be something still between them.

We can only hope that this will be a wake-up call to Williams. Yes, he is known for being a comedian, but he always seems to be at his best when playing dramatic roles. One look at IMDb shows that people like Good Will Hunting more than Flubber. So, Robin, if you are reading this with a couple scripts on your desk, please choose the next Dead Poets Society over the next Licensed To Wed. We really want to enjoy your presence again.
