Weekend Box Office

Clooney and his fabulous red carpet friendly dozen nabbed the top slot this week while the Day Walker, Van Wilder, and Whistler’s daughter are off to lick their wounds. The Time Warner one-two punch of sequels this weekend finally managed to dethrown Nicolas Cage’s Treasure Hunt.

The Polar Express soared passed the century mark, courtesy of the IMAX 3D experience, to which I highly reccomend, which is like paying the equivalent of a ticket and a half to see. Sadly not even with dirty mick Colin Farrell hosting SNL this weekend was enough to dig Alexander from the bowels of the box office top ten. The Oliver Stone epic sank to the ten spot and will likely to vanish next week.

Speaking of next week, It’s Jim Carrey’s raised eyebrows vs. Adam Sandler’s language barrier vs. Dennis Quaid and a broken down plane. Also opening in limited release is Kevin Spacey’s Beyond the Sea, Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby and Martin Scorcese’s The Aviator. Look for Marty’s latest to make the dent come Jebus’s B-Day. Anyways, enough yappin’...Here’s This Week’s Top Ten...
