Warriors Coach Mark Jackson At Center Of Extortion Plot

Six years ago, former NBA all-star Mark Jackson allegedly cheated on his wife with a stripper while working as a commentator in New Jersey. After less than a year, he broke off the affair, assumedly, to never hear from the woman again. Unfortunately for him, that’s not how it played out, and he’s spent the past few months supposedly dealing with an extortion plot

According to The Smoking Gun, Jackson was at a road game in Memphis in early April when a man, later identified as Marcus Shaw, showed him a folder containing explicit pictures the guard reportedly sent to the stripper. Without any idea what to do, Jackson reportedly paid the man five thousand dollars, but a few weeks later, an email was sent to his wife’s account demanding more money. The FBI was notified shortly thereafter, and the bureau monitored Jackson’s communications with Shaw until they finally swooped in and arrested him, along with the now ex-stripper, Alexis Adams.

In all documentation, Jackson is referred to by an alias, but several sources are reporting that he is, in fact, the one at the center of this mess. It’s unclear how Jackson’s wife of twenty-two years must be feeling, but she was reportedly informed of the relationship five years ago by Adams after Jackson told her he’d never leave his family.

We’ll likely know within the next few weeks whether this case will end with a plea deal, but if it doesn’t, expect a long, ugly and well-covered trial.
