This rundown contains quite a few details about season 1 so if you’re behind on the series, don’t read any further! Greek is a dramedy series on ABC Family that follows Rusty, a freshman at Cyprus-Rhodes University as he tries to shed his geeky exterior by joining a fraternity. Pretty much all of the main characters in this series are in a fraternity or sorority. Rusty’s party-mentor is Cappie, the president of the Kappa Tau fraternity. Rusty’s older sister Casey was made president of the Zeta Beta Zeta sorority. Casey used to date Cappie but broke up with him to date Evan, the president of the Omega Chi Delta fraternity. That’s the frat that Rusty’s friend Calvin was pledging but as of the end of the first season Calvin de-pledged (or at least, he left his pledge-pin at the house and walked out) after Ashleigh (of Zeta Beta, also Casey’s best friend) accidentally let it slip to his fraternity brothers that Calvin is gay. Dale, Rusty’s roommate, is the only main character not in a fraternity. He’s a science nerd and an uber-Christian who believes greek life is only for heathens.

Things were turned upside down in the season 1 finale when it comes out that Jen K., a Zeta Beta pledge as well as Rusty’s girlfriend was actually a reporter for the campus paper. She did a whole story that shines a very negative light on the greek system based on things she found out as a pledge. Rusty ends up dumping her over it but we still haven’t found out how the article will really affect the fraternities and sororities. And speaking of dumped, after Frannie (having been recently dethroned from her spot as president of Zeta Beta and replaced by Casey) had a little chat with Evan about Casey’s priorities, Evan decided Casey doesn’t need him anymore and he dumped her. Meanwhile, Cappie hooked up with Rebecca, the Zeta Beta pledge who slept with Evan at the beginning of the season. Casey and Rusty headed home for winter break.

When Chapter 2 picks up, Cappie and Rebecca are keeping their new relationship a secret. Meanwhile Casey tries to manage running the Zeta’s and Rusty tries to get over Jen K.

I love Greek. It was one of the only shows that I actually looked forward to every week last summer when the first season aired. Cappie’s easily my favorite character but I also love Calvin and am excited to see what happens next for him now that everyone knows he’s gay. The show airs on ABC Family but it's really geared more towards older teens and young adults. There are even references to things like Star Wars and other 80's movies and songs that'll definitely give post-college-aged viewers something to chuckle over.

Greek is just such a fun series and the pace of the show really works. There's the perfect amount of drama to keep things interesting and just the right amount of humor to keep the show from getting too serious. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how the Cyprus-Rhodes gang is doing.
