The Nine and Six Degrees Might Be Worth A Look

ABC has a number of new drama series premiering this fall. The network found a winning formula in shows like ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Lost’ and ‘Desperate Housewives’ by taking a well rounded group of characters and putting them in various situations and then letting the story unfold bit by bit. It’s a simple formula but it works when the writing is good. Two new shows that might be able to follow in the footsteps of the above listed hits are ‘Six Degrees’ and ‘The Nine’.

Similar to shows like ‘Lost’, ‘The Nine’ and ‘Six Degrees’ both center on a group of people whose lives come together in various ways. In ‘The Nine’, nine people are held hostage at a bank robbery and the ordeal ends up bringing the group together. In ‘Six Degrees’, there isn’t one specific event that causes the characters to meet but rather, a series of events that causes their paths to cross in various ways.

Both shows look like they’ll be full of drama but it will take good writing, acting and strong character development to make these shows worth watching. Take a look at the trailers for both shows below.

‘Six Degrees’ – premieres Thursday, September 21st at 10 PM (After ‘Grey’s Anatomy’)

‘The Nine’ – premieres Wednesday, October 4th on ABC
