Princess Lois And Peter Solo

Seth MacFarlane has made a career off of spoofing pop culture. Every episode of his cult hit ‘Family Guy’ contains at least two or three complete plot digressions that work as homages to yesteryear. He’s poked fun at former presidents (pretty much all of them), famous actors (most notably Adam West), and even food (Big League Chew). It now appears the animation guru has set his sights on the most famous saga of all time.

According to Variety, Peter Griffin and the rest of his loveable family will take aim at Star Wars on the season premiere in September. It’s not the first time that MacFarlane and the other writers have satirized the George Lucas classics, but this special episode (marking the 30th anniversary) will devote the entire plot to the epic intergalactic struggle. In fact, series creators were so enthusiastic about the idea that they contacted and got approval from Lucasfilm itself.

Peter will play Han Solo, while Lois, Chris, and Brian tackle the rolls of Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbaca respectively. The youngest Griffin member and easily the most diabolical, Stewie, will dawn the Darth Vader mask. It’s unclear who Meg will personify; however, I’m guessing the unattractive and emotional teen will be left out. It’s a tough world for fat chicks. Fan favorites Cleveland and Quagmire will appear as C-3PO and R2-D2.

As much as I’d like to hate ‘Family Guy’, I really can’t. The jokes may be irreverent and not plot-centered in the least; however, some of the parodies are spot on. With MacFarlane’s love for Star Wars well documented, this should be more than worth watching. Get excited. You only have to wait four months to see it.
