So You Think You Can Dance: 2009 Fall TV Preview

Ok, I was a little apprehensive about a fall season for So You Think You Can Dance. After all, wasn’t it like five minutes ago that Jeanine was crowned the season 5 winner? But Fox won me over with this promo for the sixth season and now I’m as excited as I would be if it were the beginning of summer and I’d been waiting all year for SYTYCD to return.

So You Think You Can Dance is a competitive reality series that features young dancers as they compete for the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. Like American Idol, the dancers go through a series of audition rounds and are critiqued by the judges (Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and a choreographer-guest-judge) in the hopes of making it to the finals. This season, we’ll be watching audition episodes and Vegas rounds until the end of October, after which the remaining contestants will be paired up and will dance a variety of dance styles in the hopes of winning over the judges and the American voting audience.

If you’re unfamiliar with the show or, if you’re like I was and unsure that you were really ready for a fall season, check out this exciting promo:

So You Think You Can Dance premieres Wednesday, Sept. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
