TNT And TBS Add Frank Darabont, Steven Spielberg, Diablo Cody And More Big Names To Lineup

There are some huge names to be found on the brand-new lineups for both TBS and TNT, two cable networks that haven't gotten quite the same high-toned acclaim as competitors like AMC and FX, but seem to be doing their damnedest to try. New shows on the fall lineup announced today include Portal House and Peter Gunn, both of which count Steven Spielberg among their producers, and A Bend in the Road, a drama based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, with Sparks also on board as a producer. Walking Dead fans will be glad to see the return of Frank Darabont, as he brings the 1940s noir cop drama Los Angels to TNT later this year. TBS will be bringing Steve Carell back to TV (as producer only) on goofy cop comedy Tribeca, and they've got a show coming from Diablo Cody, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Juno and creator of The United States of Tara.

And those are only the shows in development-- shows scheduled to arrive on both networks later this year are the Dwayne Johnson-Produced The Hero, the D.L. Hughley and Michael Ian Black collaboration Turst Me, I'm A Game Show Host, and the return of many hit shows like Falling Skies, Franklin & Bash and of course Cougar Town, which continues to flourish on TBS after its transition from ABC. You can see the full lineup of shows, both coming this year and in development, below. Keep coming back for more TV news as all the networks announce their upcoming slates!
