AOL Gives a 24 Hour Gift of Free Movie Downloads
Downloading movies is traditionally an expensive habit to have or an illegal one. Either you’re thumbing the studios by downloading bootleg copies via torrents, which usually wind up giving you exactly what you paid for – a poor copy at best, or you’re paying close to what you’d pay for a DVD, only without the disc or the bonus materials.
For fans who love movies, however, AOL is offering a sweet Christmas gift. For 24 hours only, they are offering a free download from a selection of 30 movies.
From the press release:
As a holiday gift to consumers, AOL announced that on Saturday, December 2nd, it will offer a selection of movies for free download through the AOL Video portal! Beginning this Saturday, December 2, at 6:00 AM ET until 6:00 AM ET on Sunday, December 3 or while supplies last. (Limit one movie download per person.) Choose from more than 30 movies – from recent releases to holiday favorites including National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation – will be made available at no charge for one day only. Normally, movie downloads from AOL Video are priced from $9.99 to $19.99 per title. It's easy to do and the directions are step by step. To take advantage of this and see a complete list of all the movies available, you can visit video.aol.com or freemovie.aol.com (which will be live by Saturday at 6 a.m.) |
I wouldn’t get up early for Black Friday sales this year but it looks like I’ll be getting up to try and take advantage of AOL’s generous offer. I suggest those who want to do the same get there early – 24 hours go by fast!
