Define surreal: watching a trailer for a video game about the war in Afghanistan while you're stationed in Afghanistan. Troops overseas will get to watch trailers for Medal of Honor and other games when the Spike Video Game Awards are broadcast there this weekend.

The 2009 VGAs will air on AFN/Xtra (channel 6) at 4:30 PM on December 18th and at 12:30 AM on December 19th. That's listed in Afghanistan Local Time, by the way. Wouldn't be very informative if it was in EST, would it?

Anyway, the information comes to us from EA, who wants troops to hit them with feedback through Facebook or Twitter. Wait, if they've got Internet access, couldn't they have already seen all the trailers and read the award winners list already? Well, whatever - point is, EA wants some feedback on their war game from folks who've actually seen a war. It doesn't sound like a bad idea on paper.
