Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios is proud to announce that the Game of Thrones: Role-Playing Game is currently for home consoles and PC in North America. If you're a fan of the adult-themed medieval-fantasy world, then the game might be the sort of adventure RPG you've been waiting for.

Recently we held a pre-launch contest to celebrate the game's availability, and we'd like to thank everyone who participated in the event. Also congrats to the winners and we hope you enjoy your free copy and art book.

As for the game itself, Game of Thrones features two distinct playable characters each with their own abilities and personality, as well as plenty of character interaction and bloodletting.

George R. R. Martin, creator of the book series "A Song of Fire and Ice" recently stated that...
"I've sampled the work Cyanide has done, and I'm largely happy with it. I think many of my fans will share that feeling," ... "Game of Thrones" RPG is filled with characters and locations straight from the pages of the beloved fantasy novels. Moreover, the game includes the likenesses of fan favorite characters from the television adaptation."

A lot of people are just hoping it turns out better than the strategy game that was recently released. Given that the game focuses more on the down-to-the-ground, third-person battles, it's entirely possible for the game to be a decent RPG getaway that also entices players with fan-favorite characters and a story that aims to grip, intrigue and mystify.

Given the game's recent release it's hard to tell if it will be a better purchase than Dragon's Dogma, but one thing is for sure, at least you don't have to worry about disc-locked content or a plethora of day-one DLC in Focus Home Interactive games.

You can pick up a retail copy of the Game of Thrones: Role-Playing Game for the Xbox 360 or PS3 right now if you live in North America, or you can head to your local e-tailer and pick up a digital copy of the game for the PC. For more info feel free to visit the Official Website.
