Astro Boy is making its pitch at Comic Con in Hall H right now. It’s due out in a few months, but they’re still announcing voice cast, a star-studded voice cast. We already knew that Kirsten Bell, Nic Cage, Donald Sutherland, and Eugene Levy would be providing voices but now you can add Samuel L. Jackson and Charlize Theron to the animated film’s A-list voice talent.

That may not however, be enough to make it good. Katey’s last message to me from the panel contained the last line of the Astro Boy teaser trailer. Here it is: “I’ve got machine guns… in my butt?” This isn’t exactly high-brow stuff.

Set in futuristic Metro City, Astro Boy is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist named Tenma (Nicolas Cage ). Powered by positive “blue” energy, Astro Boy (Freddie Highmore) is endowed with super strength, x-ray vision, unbelievable speed and the ability to fly.
