Back in 1988, Die Hard was a big deal. It promised to be bigger, louder and generally all up in our faces more than any action movie ever created. It’s tag lined told us that it would “blow you through the back wall of the theater.” And blow it did. (There’s got to be a better way to say that). Until then, Bruce Willis was the loveable guy from 'Moonlighting,' not the hardened John McClane with marital problems. Of course, there have been several sub-par sequels and the latest Live Free or Die Hard is shaping out to be the weakest with a PG-13 rating.
Nevertheless, the money machine that is Hollywood only knows financial failure. So there’s no surprise that a fifth Die Hard is a possibility.
“I told them I'd only do it if Len [Wiseman] was involved and Maggie Q and Justin [Long], of course. It's been since '95, so 12 years, and 21 years is the span of all four of ‘em. So, you can see me when I'm 31 and you can see me when I'm 52. So you guys will decide,” Bruce Willis told IESB.net.
We aren’t quite sure what Willis is referring to with the numbers game. All we know is we want to see Die Hard not Die Not So Hard. Give us a film where McClane’s gets to kick ass, and we’ll give you the go ahead for a fifth. If not, you can title it Just Die Already.

why is it that, die hard must end at its fifth sequel? how come james bond movies does not give viewers boredom? lol, so i believe, Bruce Lived as john mclane, he will die as john mclane
I'm very happy to see John McClane take his rightful place alongside James Bond as one of the greatest action movie heroes of all time. Why do I say this? Well, the fact that all four DIE HARD films have been rousing fun aside, it was about four or five entries into the 45+ year 007 franchise that critics and self-proclaimed film experts started saying "This character and this series are dead. Bond should just be put to rest forever!" Decades later, James Bond is pulling in more money and entertaining more people worldwide than ever, and those mature and savvy enough to accept popcorn, escapist entertainment for what it is continue to enjoy each new 007 film. After four slick, well-made and uber-entertaining McClane films, this blue collar James Bond has proven himself as enduringly popular as any celluloid man-of-action before him. Here's hoping they make four more DIE HARD movies before Willis hangs up his machine gun forever. Let the cynics piss and moan. The rest of us will keep having a blast watching McClane play fly in the ointment to an endless parade of smug, self-satisfied Eurotrash and would-be heisters.
Die Hard is a great series. The latest movie is EXCELLENT and made without the usual macho bullshit with everyone saying fuck in every sentence of every word. The box office of these movies are amazingly consistant with each film grossing about 100 million dollars in the US and a couple hundred million internationally. So a 5th movie would be good indeed, the question is will bruce Willis really think it's necessary for his career?
Wrong...
That's what I say about you. You are completley wrong. THe Die Hard Quadrilogy was one of the best Four part movies EVER, and Rocky made 6 now. I feel that Die Hard could completely continue into a 5th and Possibly a 6th... but that's a lil too much. 5 is a great number to end with, and Bruce Willis is just the man to FINISH it!!! IF they make a 5th one, without him, yes ur right... complete falure... and Justin Long for that matter was BRILLIANT!!! He was a great Co-Pilot lol... I hope to see him in the 5th one as well as Lucy McClaine, and who knows... for a bad Guy? Possibly Tommy Lee Jones??? Or Kevin James... nah not him lol!!!
