Divergent's Final Theatrical Trailer Teases Bird Attacks, A Mean Dog And Dauntless Action
We still have well over a month to wait for the feature adaptation of Divergent to arrive, but promotions for the film are in full swing and that includes the final theatrical trailer for the movie, which you can watch above.
The trailer begins with a shot of dystopian Chicago where society is broken up into five factions. Tris (Woodley) is one of many teens who must decide to stay with her family's faction or switch to one of the other factions. Wrestling dogs or wolves -- I think it's a dog in the book, but that looked like it could be a wolf in the trailer. Either way, it looks mean -- and being attacked by birds are among the challenges Tris must face as she's tested and trained, but as the trailer teases, she may have more to fear for being different. Being Divergent is something she needs to keep secret in this dystopian world, as it means she can't be controlled.
We mentioned yesterday when we teased the trailer that Woodley would be on Jimmy Kimmel Live. You can watch her and Theo James' grand entrance in the video below below. The two join the stage via zip-line and then have a chat about the movie. James also talks about his brief but memorable appearance on the first season of Downton Abbey...
Divergent is based on a book by Veronica Roth. Summit has plans to adapt both of the book's sequels, Insurgent and Allegiant.
It's a big year for Woodley, as Divergent arrives in theaters March 21. She also has The Fault in Our Stars set to arrive in theaters in June. Watch the trailer for that here.
