Hopefully Better Second Avatar Trailer Coming Soon The first public Avatar trailer was a bad call. Rather than wait for their highly publicized “Avatar Day,” 20th Century Fox decided to release a less-than-impressive trailer online, where screens are obviously considerably smaller and lack 3D capabilities. So while Comic-Con attendees praised the twenty minutes of beautiful HD 3D footage they got to see, onliners were left wondering, “Did footage from the same movie? Cause that was dumb.”

Now Fox hopes to redeem themselves with their second trailer, which, according to MarketSaw, may be coming very soon. Citing an inside source, MarketSaw claims that the second trailer will focus more on story and less on “OH LOOK AT HOW AWESOME THIS IS!” Maybe they realized that none of it looked awesome to us. This will also be the trailer that displays the performances more, with an emphasis on Sam Worthington’s “incredible performance” as Jake.

While it isn’t time for Fox to start getting panicking, they have to at least be perspiring a little bit. They just spent a few hundred million dollars on a movie and they’ve already taken a couple of bad steps promoting it. If they don’t find the film a niche soon, they might have to make a whole lot of Ice Age sequels to make up for the loss.
