Jennifer Lawrence And Bradley Cooper To Reunite For Serena![]()
We haven't even seen David O. Russell's The Silver Linings Playbook yet, but apparently co-stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence are already prepared to make another movie together.
Vulture has learned that the two actors are now set to star in Serena, a period drama based on the novel by Ron Rash. The book first came out in 2008 and is set in 1929 North Carolina. Lawrence and Cooper will play newlyweds George and Serena Pemberton, an ambitious couple that will stop at absolutely nothing to make their timber business grow. But when Serena discovers that she is unable to have children, she "launches a deadly vendetta against her husband's illegitimate son." At one point in time there was talk that Angelina Jolie would star in the movie with Darren Aronofsky serving as director. Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier, who directed the Oscar winning In A Better World in 2010, will serve as director on the project with production set to begin soon. This sounds like an amazing part for Lawrence, who has quickly established herself as one of the most talented and in-demand actresses in Hollywood. What I really love, though, is that she has landed the lead in The Hunger Games - which is almost guaranteed to be the first in a franchise - and has X-Men: First Class going, but she is still taking these small, meaty parts where she can really show off her skills. This sounds like a fascinating premise and I look forward to seeing what Lawrence can do with the character. |
