Crispin Glover is a freakin looney, which makes him absolutely perfect to play Grendel in the upcoming Robert Zemeckis (Where has he been lately? About time Bob!) version of Beowulf.
Fangoria has the story, and according to them the film should hit sometime in 2007. Crispin says his participation isn't finalized yet, but it seems probable. Glover gained fame as the great George McFly in Zemeckis' Back to the Future, though he already had a career as a freaky rocker. Since then he's mucked around with truly bizarre, and in some cases unwatchable film projects (He's counter-culture yo!) which he finances by doing slightly more mainstream films like this and Charlie's Angels.
Zemeckis' Beowulf script was written by Roger Avery and Neil Gaiman, which ought to do even more to make it an incredibly perfect, weirdo fit for the crazed (and beloved) Crispin.
