New Poster For David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo viral site, Mouth-Taped-Shut.com, has been on a real roll as of late. First there was the mystery site that revealed new stills from the movie, then came the strange video that seemed to be filmed with a super 8 camera, and, most recently, they've begun a campaign in which pressed flowers are left in secret locations around the country. Today's big reveal, however, is a bit more simple: a brand new one-sheet.
Check out the poster below or full size over on Mouth Taped Shut.
I actually really love this poster. The layering is excellent and it puts the movie's strongest elements at the front: the two leads (Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig), the mystery at the heart of the plot (the flower) and the snowy Swedish landscape. It does look similar to the poster for the Swedish adaptation of The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest, but it has enough original elements to make it stand on its own. The tagline is also fantastic, and has been a staple of the viral campaign thus far (the main site that has been leaving clues for the pressed flowers is WhatIsHiddenInSnow.com). Based on the international best seller by Stieg Larsson, the movie is about a disgraced journalist (Craig) who is hired by a retired industrialist (Christopher Plummer) to solve a murder. The journalist teams up with a young, anti-social hacker (Mara) to dig into the clues and they end up uncovering a dark family secret. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is directed by David Fincher and written by Steven Zaillian and will be released on December 21st.
