When the new James Bond adventure Skyfall finally opens on November 9, you'll have two options: see the movie on regular old screens, or see it in giant, glorious IMAX. No, it's absolutely not an option not to see it, since this Bond adventure is one of the best of the franchise, and quite honestly the best action film I've seen this year. You may want to argue with me and say The Avengers is better-- but of course, you've got to see them both first!

Anyway, having seen Skyfall in standard projection, I'm curious about the difference IMAX might make, so I might be lining up next to the super fans for the film's midnight IMAX premiere, at 12:01 am on November 9. And if I go there, I'll be rewarded with a pretty sweet exclusive poster, which IMAX revealed today. Take a look at your reward for staying up too late below (you can click on it to see it larger):

You can go here for the list of theaters playing it in IMAX near you, but it's up to you to figure out the difference between true IMAX and the insidious LIEMAX, which attempts to get you to pay more for a slightly larger screen (in New York City, greatest city on earth, there is but one real IMAX screen that's not part of a museum. One!) Having seen Skyfall on a regular-sized screen I promise it looks pretty spectacular that way-- and unlike The Dark Knight Rises or Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, director Sam Mendes didn't shoot with IMAX cameras, so it might be less of a necessity here.

In conclusion: go see Skyfall. And if you walk away with a swanky poster and show up at work exhausted the next day, all the better.
