Trailer Trash: Brave One, Die Hard, Romulus, B5

By Josh Tyler: 2007-06-02 16:42:18
When trailers fall in between Cinema Blend’s couch cushions, they eventually get vacuumed up and deposited here in Trailer Trash. Today's bag of Trailer Trash contains three future viewing possibilities, and one piece of bonus trash.

First we have a first domestic trailer for the new Jodie Foster movie The Brave One. Next up is a Japanese trailer for Live Free or Die Hard, with a disinterested Bruce Willis intro. Third in line is a trailer for the not ready to be released in the US, sappy Eric Bana movie Romulus, My Father. Last, we’ve got a bonus trailer for a geektastic, upcoming DVD release. Scroll!

The Brave One – first domestic trailer
New York radio host Erica Bain (Jodie Foster) has a life that she loves and a fiance she adores. All of it is taken from her when a brutal attack leaves Erica badly wounded and her fiance dead. Unable to move past the tragedy, Erica begins prowling the city streets at night to track down the men she holds responsible. Her dark pursuit of justice catches the public's attention, and the city is riveted by her anonymous exploits. But with the NYPD desperate to find the culprit and a dogged police detective (Terrence Howard) hot on her trail, she must decide whether her quest for revenge is truly the right path, or if she is becoming the very thing she is trying to stop.

The first trailer is here, and it looks like a very cool mix of every Jodie Foster movie you’ve ever seen and the great M. Night Shyamalan movie Unbreakable. Watch the trailer for The Brave One in high-res by going here or just click play on the embedded video below:

Live Free or Die Hard – Japanese trailer
There’s no shortage of new trailer version for Live Free or Die Hard. But I thought this one was worth sharing, if only for the extremely bored, incredibly awkward intro from Bruce Willis in which he attempts to speak Japanese and then does some sort of strange, self-congratulatory fist pump. Seriously, I just don’t get Japanese culture. Watch the Japanese trailer for Die Hard 4.0 by clicking here. No embed version available for this one.

Romulus, My Father – Australian trailer
If you watched Knocked Up this weekend, then you know that one of the funniest scenes of the film involves Seth Rogen thanking Eric Bana for being such a badass in Munich. Apparently movies about Jews kicking ass help get Rogen laid. If that’s the case, it’s unlikely Bana’s next movie will do much to impress women, unless they’re into the sensitive type. It’s a sappy drama about a father son relationship. The movie is Romulus, My Father and it’s already out in Australia. Right now it doesn’t have a US release date, but since it has Eric Bana, maybe there’s a chance it’ll drift over here eventually.

BONUS TRASH: Babylon 5: The Lost Tales
Just in case you missed my post over in our DVD News section, here’s a second chance to get your first look at the teaser trailer for Babylon 5: The Lost Tales, which hits DVD on July 31st (or so my desktop background tells me). If you missed the show during its 5 award-winning season in the 90s, consider putting Season 1 in your Netflix cue. ‘B5’ is easily one of the best science fiction shows to hit television since ‘Trek’. Get caught up, and be a part of the inevitable furor once the first of what may be several Lost Tales DVD movies hits. Here’s the Babylon 5: The Lost Tales trailer:
