The Wolverine Gets An International Poster And 8 New Stills
Comic book fans have been waiting for this week for a long time. While James Mangold's The Wolverine is set to be released this July, the director and the studio have held off on releasing the first theatrical trailer - but that all changes this Wednesday. To get us ready, this morning we saw the release of a six-second teaser as well as a brand new domestic poster, however, that's not all we have for you.
In addition to the international one-sheet you see above, which feature's Hugh Jackman once again shirtless and angry, Entertainment Weekly has also posted eight new stills from the film. What's special about the images is that they're the first official looks at a couple of characters who don't have adamantium skeletons and claws that shoot out of their hands.
First up we have Mariko, played by actress Tao Okamoto. In the movie she is being targeted by the Yakuza, and Logan has been hired as her protector.
To balance out Mariko's innocence, the site has also posted a few photos of Viper, the femme fatale from the comics being played by Svetlana Khodchenkova who likes working with poisons. In addition to getting her own still, you can also see her taunting what appears to be a captured Wolverine.
And now we've come to Yukio, a friendly who is portrayed by newcomer Rila Fukushima. While there aren't too many details about how the character will be played in the movie, she is a ninja and has some extremely lethal skills.
And we couldn't wrap up this post about The Wolverine without just a picture of Wolverine, right?
We expect to see even more from the film before the trailer comes out, so be sure to check back for more comic book movie goodness. And perhaps we'll even get a good look at Will Yun Lee's Silver Samurai soon!
The Wolverine will be in theaters on July 26th.
