Loki's Magic Gets Explained In New Deleted Scene From Thor: The Dark World

One of the most interesting bits revealed about Loki in Marvel Studios' Thor: The Dark World was that he seems to more take after his adoptive mother than his adoptive father. During a crucial scene towards the middle of the film it's shown that Frigga (Rene Russo) has the same magical abilities as the God of Mischief, as she is also able to project her own image to fool her enemies. This bit of information was handled with a lot of grace and was very well done, adding a level of depth to all four members of the Asgardian royal family. Its likely that the filmmakers realized at one point that they really didn't have to do a full-on exposition dump to explain the relationship between Frigga and Loki, which is why the deleted scene you see above ended up being left out of the final cut.

With the Thor sequel scheduled to arrive on Blu-ray and DVD at the end of next month, Marvel and Disney have been slowly leaking out little clips of extras that they hope will entice fans to add the film to their movie collections. Is this deleted scene between Thor and Frigga not interesting enough? How about this clip featuring Tom Hiddleston wearing Captain America's uniform, which we first revealed yesterday?

No good? What about this intro clip from the new Marvel One Shot All Hail The King starring Sir Ben Kingsley?

The point is, if you miss out on this Blu-ray purchase then you may find yourself missing out on a lot of really cool extra stuff. Oh, and did I mention that the release will also feature an exclusive sneak peek at Joe and Anthony Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier?

Thor: The Dark World will be hitting stores on February 25th. Are you planning to pick up a copy?
