It appears PS3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet is getting its oft-rumored sequel. As with all news these days, this information was revealed accidentally via a social networking site.
It seems Sony really, really liked LittleBigPlanet. Today they announced the acquisition of developer Media Molecule.

Last night, the 9th annual Game Developers Choice Awards took place in San Francisco. LittleBigPlanet took home the most awards, racking up wins for Best Game Design, Best Technology, Best Debut Game and Innovation Award. Game of the Year, however, went to Fallout 3. Last night the D.I.C.E. Summit, a yearly gathering of video game executives in Las Vegas, held its 12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards. As you may suspect, video game executives have a hard-on for innovation and as a result LittleBigPlanet won big. They took home eight awards in total, including Overall Game of the Year.
