Grant Show And True Blood's Mariana Klaveno Join Marc Cherry's Devious Maids Pilot
Few pilots in development sound quite as soapy as the Marc Cherry drama Devious Maids, and the project seems to be attracting those familiar with that kind of strangely addictive melodrama. This includes Susan Lucci, who recently boarded the project as one of the wealthy maid-employing characters. And now one Melrose Place veteran and one former True Blood recurring character have joined the cast.
The ABC pilot Devious Maids is based on the Mexican drama The Disorderly Maids of the Neighborhood, and will star Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Dania Ramirez, and Roselyn Sanchez, who are set to play said maids. According to TV Line, Grant Show and Mariana Klaveno have joined the cast. While Show will play Spence Davis, a successful soap star (fitting), Klaveno will play a self-centered actress who also happens to be Spence Davis’ wife.
Those who watched the popular primetime soap Melrose Place will recognize Grant Show for his role as the dreamy resident Jake in the drama. More recently, he appeared in USA’s Burn Notice and HBO’s Big Love. Speaking of HBO, Klaveno’s recent credits include playing the wicked maker Lorena, who was last seen (True Blood Season 3 spoiler!) erupting like a bloody geyser on the primetime vampire drama. She was something of an evil nuisance in True Blood and from her character description for Maids, it doesn’t sound like she’s all that likable there either, which I take as a good thing.
