Showtime Orders Up More Weeds And The Big C

As I’m a fan of Weeds and I’ve been enjoying having my emotions toyed with during each new episode of Showtime’s series The Big C, I’m happy to report that both series have been picked up for another season.

The Hollywood Reporter posted the news, stating that Showtime picked up both Weeds and The Big C for another season, both of which are set to air in 2011.

Weeds follows a widow/former-housewife as she digs herself and her family further and further into the risky, dangerous and extremely illegal world of drug dealing. The Bic C follows a woman who, after learning she has cancer, decides to make some drastic changes in her life.

I’m not sure if this news is bigger for The Big C or Weeds. The Big C is new and only a few episodes into its first season, so it’s definitely good news to hear that Showtime is sticking with it. Meanwhile, Weeds is in its sixth season and while last season was probably the weakest of the series, I’m still holding out hope that things will pick up as Season 6 continues. Showtime seems to think it will if they’re ordering up more for next year.
