Spartacus War Of The Damned Video Features Caesar, Crassus And Tiberius

Among the newcomers to Spartacus: War of the Damned for the series' final season are Crassus, Tiberius and Caesar, who will serve as Spartacus' Roman opposition. The latest video released in anticipation of the approaching final season gives us an idea of what's going on with these three men, beyond simply their eagerness to stop the rebellion and take Spartacus out.

One of the things I love about Spartacus is that the "villains" aren't painted entirely as bad guys with only one motive: to defeat the good guys. Batiatus, Lucretia, Ilithyia and Glaber (to name a few) all had their own personal motives, which mixed in with their political agendas and made for some very interesting conflict. The series, in its first few seasons, was as much about them as it was about the title character and the other slaves. With those mentioned characters gone (but never forgotten!), a new set of powerful, wealthy elite are moving in. The video below gives us some insight into what's going on with Crassus, Caesar and Tiberius.

While it sounds like Crassus is interested in adding glory to his resume, it also sounds like he's a smart man, which could make him tough opposition for Spartacus and his army. And then, of course, he has Caesar on his side, who's said to be good in the battle field. To add to that, there's Tiberius, who from the sound of it, will be involved with a power struggled with Caesar. That could make for a very interesting story as we get to know these new Romans and see what's going on on their side of the battle field.

Spartacus: War of the Damned premieres January 25 at 9:00 p.m. ET on Starz.
