For a while now, one major deciding factor for movie fans when it came time to decide between purchasing a digital download of their favorite films or sticking with traditional physical media has been this: digital downloads might look as good, but you don't get all the goodies. Specifically the extras, the bonus features, the commentaries and making-ofs and blooper reels. All of that stuff may just be icing on top of the cake that is your favorite film, but let's face it: cake is way better with icing. Recently, iTunes has been trying to remove this obstacle by adding new download titles complete with extras. They may not be as comprehensive as picking up a double-disc Blu-ray set, but it's a step in the right direction.

The latest addition to their growing roster of "iTunes Extras" is Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's 2005 excursion into the world's most famous chocolate factory, belonging to the eccentric and colorful Willy Wonka (Depp). You can download the film from iTunes here, and your purchase will also get you four featurettes: "Chocolate Dreams" focuses on Burton's vision in adapting Roald Dahl's original book; "Different Faces, Different Flavors" spotlights the characters; "Sweet Sounds" has composer Danny Elfman talking about the Oompa-Loompa songs; and "Fantastic Mr. Dahl" looks back at the book's author. You can check out an exclusive clip from the iTunes bonus features below.
