Iron Man Comes To DVD In Ultimate Form
Iron Man proved to be one of the best movies this summer and a highlight in the super-hero genre - that’s pretty high praise considering it had to share the spotlight with The Dark Knight. Although I didn’t make repeat trips to see Tony Stark’s origin story, I knew this was a must-own on DVD. Now that I’ve seen the DVD art and specs, I am even more excited.
Iron Man will hit store shelves on September 30th, on Blu-ray and a two-disc release in an “Ultimate Edition” with a good amount of bonus material, including a six-part look at the character and a seven-part behind the scenes look at the movie. The Blu-ray version swaps some of the content around, makes most of it available in High Def, and includes a “Hall of Armor” that allows fans to enter Stark’s database and get a closer look at the Iron Man armors in the movie, including Iron Monger. A single-disc edition will also be available, which only carries the deleted/extended scenes.
If the content doesn’t sell you, how about that cover art (see gallery below), which puts aside the poster art for a kick-ass straight on shot of the Iron Man suit. Considering how many bad DVD covers we see, I love this approach.
Check out the specs for each release below, and the cover art in the gallery below that.
