Smokin' Aces Gets Loaded

Smokin’ Aces was one of the first pictures to explode on the big screen this year and its home release isn’t too far away. The star-studded film heads to DVD and HD DVD on April 12th.

The title of the movie refers to Buddy ‘Aces’ Israel, a magician who has decided to turn states evidence against the Vegas Mob. Jeremy Piven plays the character who suddenly finds himself most wanted by just about everyone around him, from government agents to mob hitmen.

Now I know what you’re thinking. Piven may be awesome on “Entourage” but does his appearance here really justify the term “star-studded”? Well, on top of Piven there’s also Ryan Reynolds (Blade: Trinity), Andy Garcia (Ocean’s Eleven), Jeremy Piven (“Entourage”), Ray Liotta (Narc), Jason Bateman (“Arrested Development”), Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights), Taraji Henson (Hustle and Flow), Ben Affleck (Hollywoodland), and singer Alicia Keys in her feature film debut. How’s that for celebrities?
