Ubisoft Montreal has revealed that Assassin's Creed III's protagonist, Conner Kenway, was influenced during his creation with the alien character from Predator.

"We were playing videos of the Predator, and if you think about inverting it – you’re the Predator, and Arnie and all his chums are redcoats – then this is a fun game. Moving through the wilderness, stalking guys who don’t see you, who don’t know where you are and then screwing around with them…" said creative director Alex Hutchinson to OPM.

Sadly, thermal imaging won't be accompanying Conner's Eagle Vision. Maybe it would've made the game a bit too easy, though.

The creative director continued to state how Conner cannot simply confront a portion of enemies and kill them. It's more about implementing the right strategy to break such formations formed by the American soldiers. "These are guys with guns, but [Connor] is still a hand-to-hand guy. A lot of the strategy is about breaking these formations. If you stand in front of a bunch of guys with rifles, they will kill you."

Assassin's Creed III is currently scheduled for a release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 31st in the US and a day later in European territories. The latter version, as well as a Wii U launch remains undated.
