GTA IV Breaks Entertainment Sales Records

Niko Bellic has taken Master Chief to a strip club for drinks and dancing women. After the Spartan was nice and liquored up Niko placed him in the back of a car and drove it off the nearest pier. Chief struggled to get out of the car and Niko blew his faceplate off with a rocket launcher. And now we all know what John 117 looks like, a dude who just lost the record for first day entertainment sales.
That’s certainly better than Take-Two’s announcement earlier today that Grand Theft Auto IV has broken sales records, which lacked the panache Niko deserves when taking out foes. The game, released last week, has sold nearly 6 million copies. 3.6 million on the first day, garnering a $310 million global take on day one. So now GTA IV is top dog on XBL, on sales charts and of course in the hearts of gamers everywhere.
”Grand Theft Auto IV's first week performance represents the largest launch in the history of interactive entertainment, and we believe these retail sales levels surpass any movie or music launch to date. We congratulate the entire Rockstar team on creating a must-have experience that takes the legendary Grand Theft Auto franchise to a new level," said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two in a statement today.
