Space Hulk smash! In case you find yourself with nothing to do in the hit PC strategy game, developer Full Control has swooped in to deliver some very good news as two (Count 'em! Two!) new campaigns are now available, including Sword of Halcyon and Defilement of Honour. That really shows you that the developers value content over currency.
Set within the Warhammer 40,000 universe and based on the best-selling table top game, Space Hulk is all about cruising around the galaxy, battling orcs and expanding your empire while taking on various missions and exploring intergalactic story lines. And now two new story lines are being added to the mix as Sword of Halcyon and Defilement of Honour arrive on the scene.
“Each campaign has five brand new levels to play and also offers new features, such as Bulkhead Doors and Air Ducts to add new elements of gameplay,” reads a statement from Full Control.
Both of these expansions are available now via Steam for $4.99 a pop and require the original Space Hulk game to be played. That's not too bad a price for two additional campaigns, though, the pricing will always be debatable based on the amount of play time the content offers.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Space Hulk is a 3D turn-based strategy game that forces players to wage war in tight quarters aboard massive ships.
“Set in the isolated corridors and tomb-like chambers of an ancient vessel lost in the graveyard of space, players lead a small army of fearless Space Marine Terminators to battle in a ferocious fight for survival against hordes of predatory alien Genestealers,” reads a statement from the developer.
The game proper sports a 12-mission single player campaign and offers cross-play multiplayer, too, between PC, Mac and iOS. In multiplayer mode, one player controls the Terminators while the other controls the Genestealers in a massive fight for survival.
Now that the two new campaigns are being made available, that means that the Space Hulk campaign is nearly doubling in size.
“We are excited to expand the universe of Space Hulk with the launch of two brand new campaigns,” said Full Control CEO Thomas Hentschel Lund. “These two popular campaigns from the vaults of White Dwarf introduce new features to the game that really shake up gameplay.”
