Black Film Without Blacks

BlackFilm.com has figured out how to do something many of you haven’t... submit a scoop. Their scoop is that they’re hosting exclusive versions of the trailer for Racing Stripes, the movie about a horse racing Zebra. What’s baffling to me is that it’s being hosted on BlackFilm.com, even though the trailer doesn’t have a single black actor in it (except someone voicing a CGI fly). I mean, it's not often a film starring Frankie Muniz is considered African American. Worse still, it opens with an extended rap number featuring David Spade. If there’s a way to make a movie whiter, I haven’t seen it. If they’re going the route of The Latino Review and covering a wider range of stuff well I’m all for that… perhaps though they should start with something less horrifying than rapping David Spade.

The trailer itself isn’t so much a story… you may have even seen some version of it in other places, though I think they are the first people to host it in superior Quicktime, which is cool… if you’re inexplicably interested in this movie that is. If you are interested, click one of the links below to decide if you’re going to need heavy medication in order to make it all the way through with your kids.
