Bruce Dons Eyepatch?

With the pending success of Marvel’s Fantastic Four it seems appropriate to be setting up even more comic adaptations. Since most of the big guns have now either been adapted or have plans for the future, Marvel is turning an eye towards their lesser known characters.

In this case the character is Nick Fury, the head of government agency S.H.I.E.L.D. who is easily recognizable by his eye patch, cigar, and trademark growl. Fury was the focus of a television adaptation of the character played by Flaming Hobbit Spirit Award winner David Hasslehoff, and Cinema Blend forum members have been treated to a portrayal of Fury by Pizza: The Movie co-star Jason Muzie, but neither of those names are in the running for the theatrical version of Fury.

According to SFX Magazine, Die Hard star Bruce Willis may be putting on the eyepatch for Paramount produced Nick Fury movie. Willis is actually a pretty good pick, although it’s unknown whether Willis owns the appropriate type wig for Fury’s hair.

The Nick Fury movie is expected to have a 2007 or 2008 release. No word as to whether Fury would have a young upstart soldier underneath him played by Ashton Kutcher.
