It looks like the ad campaign for The Golden Compass is starting to ramp up. New Line has been a little tight-fisted with material for the movie, primarily just promoting the film using the logo and counting on people’s awareness of the novel to build interest. Finally we’re getting some sign of real promotion though: character posters.
Now you know no movie’s publicity can be complete without character posters, especially one with such a vast array of interesting characters like Golden Compass. Of course, it would help if people who hadn’t read the novel had a chance to know who those characters were before trying to build interest using them, but lets not pick nits here.
Cinematical has gotten an exclusive first look at five new posters for The Golden Compass. The new line starts with a collage poster (seen below) and then breaks that collage into four larger versions of its four parts. The posters then get to show Daniel Craig’s Lord Asriel, Nicole Kidman as Mrs. Coulter, Eva Green as Serafina Pekkala (with a cool-as-hell Sam Elliot in the background as Lee Scoresby), and finally the lead character, Lyra (Dakota Blue Richards) riding atop a charging Iorek (that’s the polar bear).
