Dax Does Time

It would seem Dax Shepard is out to prove how fast he can drive a fledgling film career into the ground. OK...maybe I shouldn't be too hard on him. Aw, who am I kidding. The guy was funny on "Punk'd" but given that his first feature film performance "tank'd", he really needed something with some traction on it to get out of the gate. Too bad he's sending his career into Hollywood lockdown - literally.

Dax is slated to join "Arrested Development's" Will Arnett in the film which is based off James Hogshire's "You Are Going To Prison". The book is apparently a sort of guide on how not to end up in jail. The movie is a sort of story about a pair of crooks who team up while serving time. Sounds kinda like Life only more modern and with white people.

According to JoBlo.com, Bob Odenkirk of "Mr. Show" fame will be directing, his second film. The writers are the same folks who penned the oh-so sorry script for The Pacifier and the foreboding Herbie: Fully Loaded. My confidence isn't bolstered. No word yet on how long Dax's sentence of being relegated to lame comedy films will last.
